The Met Council is the advocate for the Jewish poor in New York and serves as an umbrella organization for neighborhood-based Jewish Community Centers (JCCs). The purpose of this report is to review the current governance structure of the Met Council in light of changes in function and scope since the establishment of the Council and to recommend a structure better suited to conditions of present days and the future. The recommendations concern the Met Council's structure, members and responsibility characteristics.
