The Jewish Role in a Global Village, and the Impact of Globalism on the Jewish Community

By Simha Rosenberg

eJewish Philanthropy, May 25, 2011

The author focuses on three areas in which globalism will have an impact on the Jewish community: the Impact of globalism in Individual Jews' work and social lives; the impact of emerging economic powers and educational elites; that climate change is inextricably linked to economic change, and has immense moral implications. The author also offers two ways of looking at the Jewish role in a global world: broadening the definition of who and what are serving the communal good; and ensuring the community's future by adhering to certain principles.
