Interview With Yigael Yadin

By Yigael Yadin

Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), April 1996

One of the most successful models of effective Israel-Diaspora cooperation in recent years has been Project Renewal -- the hands-on involvement of world Jewry in upgrading the quality of life in disadvantaged communities and neighborhoods in Israel. This article, the second of three articles discussing the project, is comprised of edited excerpts of a 1981 interview with Yigael Yadin, who headed the project on behalf of the Israeli government. Yadin discusses the problematic beginnings of this project.
