By Barry Chazan, Yehiel Poupko

This is a project that was initiated by the Lay Leadership Development Committee of JCCA to help lay leaders become more Jewishly literate. Its main Idea is that there are wonderful sources of wisdom (mekorot in Hebrew) from the Jewish past that can help lay leaders in guiding Jewish Community Centers in the present and future. The purpose of this project is to help lay leaders become more comfortable and familiar with some of the great ideas and sources of Jewish Tradition - and to see how these ideas might be utilized to confront the challenges of Center life.
