Outreach Programs to Intermarried Couples - A Seminar: Summary of Proceedings

By Egon Mayer, Rachel Cowan, Marc Angel, Stephen Foster, Stephen Lerner, Rosalyn Hirsch, Joel Tessler

American Jewish Committee (AJC), May 1, 1985

This is the summary of a three day intensive exploration of programs for the intermarried. The seminar is divided into three parts: an overview of the current intermarriages situation, ideological perspectives on what can and cannot be done with intermarrieds, and a practical workshop on which programs work successfully and which do not. The seminar was convened by the American Jewish Committee, which believes that apart from marriage and childbearing, intermarriage is the single most serious issue confronting the American Jewish community today.
