Can the Study of Jewish Texts Be Relevant Today

By Neil Kaunfer

Response, Winter 1968

The age-old Jewish tradition of the study of Jewish Texts for their own sake has largely been lost in the modern American Jewish community. Because the texts are no longer practically applicable to modern life, their knowledge is at risk of being lost. But the author, Rabbi Neil Kaunfer submits that there are moral, personal and ethical lessons to be learned from the legalistic texts of Jewish tradition.
