Zionism: A Jewish Communal Response from the UK

The Board of Deputies of British Jews, 2010

The contributions contained in the following document come from across the religious spectrum but share many fundamental points: (1) that the point that Zionism deserves a more complex definition than simply saying it was a creation of 19th century European Jewry, (2) that the connection with the land and the desire to return to it reverts to Biblical times, (3) that Kairos is extremely one-sided, and (4) that triumphalism should be rejected and that conflict resolution must take the goals and the sufferings of both sides into account.
