If There's Life Out There, Do They Eat Pastrami?

By Leonard Fein

Forward Association, 2007

The discovery of an Earth-like planet a mere 120 trillion miles away gives rise to some theological speculation, tongue-in-cheek though it might be - What might the Jews of Gliese 581c be like? Do those distant Jews have our troubles, our traditions, our beliefs? Do they keep Sabbath, have a Jewish State, are they the Chosen People there? Perhaps we'd best leave such speculation to the side, get back to beating our swords into plowshares and our spears into pruning hooks and clothing the naked and feeding the hungry and all the rest.
