A City United in Name Only

United Jerusalem is a figment, a unified city in name only. The security fence, the paucity of city resources spent on the Palestinian residents, the trauma of Lebanon and the West Bank withdrawal all mark Jerusalem as a city of occupation and conflict. Twelve years earlier, the world gathered here to bury Yitzhak Rabin, tragically it seems that they buried the peace process that day as well.
