On the Same Side as Common Decency

By Leonard Fein

Forward Association, 2008

Israel's enemies use the word Apartheid with delight, hoping to poison her legitimacy with one of the great crimes of the 20th century. And while Israel avoids the legal definition of Apartheid, it doesn't pass the smell test. Separate roads, separate laws, and the barbaric "separation fence" breed resentment and despair. So celebrate when good sense does prevail, when the courts and the military agree that the fence was built for a political, not a military purpose. Celebrate when common decency prevails.
