On the heels of the election of Barack Obama, Israeli citizens also face an election, but far from the energy of America's elections, they are wallowing in lethargy. Israel's proportional representation system distances the voters from the candidates who eventually serve in the Knesset and a retread of candidates hardly inspire Israeli voters. The political decisions that lie before Israel are no less momentous than those that face us here. But the system is sluggish, and the citizens are exhausted.
