A 'Nakba' for Freedom of Expression

By Leonard Fein

Forward Association, 2009

Avigdor Lieberman, resident provocateur of the Knesset, has proposed banning Palestinian memorial celebration of 'the catastrophe,' or Nakba, the Palestinian name for the expulsion of Palestinians from their land during the Israeli War for Independence. While the path forward to peace is not clear, one thing is - Lieberman, and those like him are a Nakba, a catastrophe for the democratic State of Israel.
