That Which Is Great and Good, and Obscured by Scandal

By Leonard Fein

Forward Association, 2010

Israel and the Catholic Church ought to be active partners in the pursuit of justice. So, too, in the more straightforward work of simple charity. Alas, it is no secret these days that the missions have been eclipsed by the scandals. The teachers, nurses, and advocates, the seekers of justice, stay at their posts, but even they are demoralized by the scandals. Social justice has been swallowed up by scandal. The scandals of sexual predation in the church and the scandal of occupation in Israel. While the future steps are murky, the first step is clear. Stop the ongoing abuses.
