Is it 1948 or 1967?

By Leonard Fein

Forward Association, 2011

The world at large has long since accepted the fact of a Jewish state. But curiously (and infuriatingly) Benjamin Netanyahu and Mahmoud Abbas, the two men in charge of the peace process, have decided to refight the battle. Netanyahu makes references to the 1938 appeasement and the Holocaust, while Abbas prevaricates (lies, some might say) about the 1948 two-state solution. Possible solutions stare them in the eyes, but no agreement will ever happen while these men remain bogged down in a time warp.
