Hard To Shut Out World's Woes, Even for a Week

There is no way to shut out the world these days. Violence in Israel, famine in Somalia, and the fatuity of the Republican candidates dominate headlines, and our minds as well. But while we cannot drive these stories out, there is still some bravery and some humor in the world. Dark humor perhaps and bravery that is mustered against entrenched authority, but these things provide such comfort as the world currently offers.
