Agreeing With the 99% Protesters

There is a puzzle in American political behavior, as public opinion polls reveal that a majority of Americans support the goals and motivations behind the Occupy movement â€" lowering income inequality, raising corporate taxes, reinvesting in our nations infrastructure â€" yet still support Republican candidates with view sharply at odds with their own. The question is, which is a more disturbing possibility, that Republican legislators are lying to their constituents, or that they truly believe that the policies they propose â€" which caused the economic crisis to begin with â€" can somehow solve it.
