Mazon - A Jewish Response to Hunger

By Leonard Fein

Forward Association, 1990

Leonard Fein is chairman of Mazon - A Jewish Response to Hunger, an organization dedicated to alleviating hunger in America. As an American and a Jew, he is twice-born into traditions of generosity and justice. But somewhere along the line hunger was transformed from a scandal to be made right into another item on the demoralizing list of American failures. Americans must refuse to accept this - the generous will of the American people must shape the political will of its leaders, and until then, civil society, and religious groups must help as many as they can.
