By Leon Shapiro

American Jewish Committee (AJC), 1971

The figures presented here offer estimates on the population of world Jewry. It was not possible to ascertain the exact number of Jews in the various countries of the world in 1970. These numbers are based on local censuses, communal registrations, estimates of informed residents and data obtained from a special inquiry conducted in 1969-1970.
