Responding to a series of articles in which Judaic Studies professors discuss their respective Jewish studies undergraduate programs, the author notes some common denominators concerning constraints under which Jewish studies programs operate. Among these are faculty constraints, the constraints of wider university policy, the tension between breadth and depth, and political biases.
