Today, when the use of every community dollar is scrutinized closely, a lack of clarity about the roles and functions of the Jewish Community Center can threaten its survival. Yet, this lack of clarity is not surprising simply because the Center provides a university of multigenerational/multidisciplinary services. It is the institutional incarnation of what in the past occurred naturallyâ??the Kehilla, the extended family, the tight-knit neighborhood.
