The author describes the development of Nefesh Achat Bâ??Yisrael / Just One Life, a professional social service organization in Israel whose mission is to assist women experiencing a pregnancy that is fraught with emotional, medical, and/or financial difficulty. She explores the conflict that women face concerning the future of an unintended or medically at-risk pregnancy, using case examples to highlight the doubts and the complexity of these womenâ??s choices.
