By Aviezer Ravitzky

JDC International Centre for Community Development, January 10, 2002

In a speech given at the Latin American Conference for Jewish Lay and Professional Leadership held in October of 2001, Ravitzky addresses the insecurity, vulnerability and  hopelessness that have arisen on an international level due to the attacks on September 11th. He aruges that the attacks created a connection between Israel and the rest of the world, in their fight to put a stop to terrorism. He then moves on to explain the dangers of using an absolutist view on religion and God as justification for violence.
