Ta'am Shel Shabbat" - A Taste of Shabbat: One Community's Experience

By Paula Sayag

Summer 2007

The author, an early childhood specialist, examines the approach that pre-schools take when teaching students how to celebrate Shabbat. As the school's annual professional day approaches, teachers discuss methods to better teach the students the true meaning of Shabbat. For example, the author describes how firstly, the educators should teach students not grow accustomed to "celebrating" Shabbat, but honoring and observing it.
