In this presentation to the Annual Meeting of the National Conference of Jewish Communal Service in Philadelphia on May 28, 1973, the author describes the experience of her agency, the Association for Jewish Children of Philadelphia, in reorganizing its volunteer program. She describes the program philosophy, administrative support , client population, categories of volunteers, program leadership, training, selection and matching, and the role of the professional in working with the volunteers.
