Fact and Opinion

By Samuel Spiegler

Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), National Conference of Jewish Communal Service, Spring 1969

This article presents in brief a miscellaneous sample of happenings in Jewish communities around the world. These include the establishment of a successful Yiddish club in Albuquerque, NM, a conversation about the feasibility of black federations modeled after Jewish federations, the establishment of Spain's first synagogue since the 1492 expulsion, the creation of a conservative Jewish journal, and the growth of Jewish Studies in American universities. As well, a longstanding public correspondence about a study published in a previous volume ("Jewish Social Group Work Students View the Jewish Community Center Field as a Placement and a Career") comes to a close.
