This article presents in brief a miscellaneous sample of happenings in Jewish communities around the world. These include an initiative to recruit ultra-orthodox bank tellers, a study on the Jewish wife, the phenomenon of multi-media Shabbat services, the frequent Shabbat service attendance of inmates, and a number of descriptions of Jewish study programs in the United States and Europe. News from Israel includes an increase of reported drug users since the 1967 War, a redefinition of "retarded," a comparative study of Israeli and non-Israeli aged men and women, and an increase in welfare allowances. Finally, a contributor publishes a number of poems under the heading "Verities in Verse: A Guide for Social Workers.
