Communal Unity - The Role of the Jewish Community Center

By Jack Boeko

Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), National Conference of Jewish Communal Service, Spring 1973

The author argues that Jewish Community Centers (JCCs), representing a broad cross-section of Jewish people, activities and interests, can be a unifying force in an increasingly fragmented Jewish world. Centers are uniquely positioned, the author asserts, to be sources of support for the community-building initiatives of other Jewish organizations, including Federation work, youth groups, synagogues, Jewish educators and others.
