By Louis Schwartzman

Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), National Conference of Jewish Communal Service, Spring 1968

This piece looks at the issue of manpower and Jewish education among other major issues facing Federations and Bureaus of Jewish Education. The piece asserts that federations have issues with ideological groups within the American Jewish community. The piece also highlights how federations can help in the efforts to support Jewish education by publicizing their achievements and including educators in meetings to discuss the larger issues of Jewish education and its effect on the Jewish community of the United States. The piece concludes by reiterating the importance of solving the manpower situation as not only the focus of educational agencies also of community federations.
