Discussion: The Jewish Community Center as an Arm of the Organized Jewish Community

By Saul Schwarz

Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), National Conference of Jewish Communal Service, Fall 1965

The author responds to Herbert Millman's "The Jewish Community Center as an Arm of the Organized Jewish Community," which appears directly before this presentation in this issue of the journal. He agrees with many of Millman's observations, but notes that the Jewish Community Center (JCC) is no longer the primary recruiting ground for Jewish federation leadership, as once it was.
