Organization for Total Community Service

By Sanford Solender

Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), National Conference of Jewish Social Welfare, September 1946

Jewish communal life is moving towards a newer level of democratization. The re-evaluation of functional services, the expansion of fundraising programs for local and world Jewish needs, the enlargement of Jewish organizational memberships, and the impetus to coordination and centralization in Jewish organizational life nationally and locally are but a few of the signs which point to this trend. This piece highlights different aspects of these emerging trends as well as the possibilities involved in these developments for Jewish communal life.
