Discussion on Adolescent Refugees

By Morris H. Price

Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), National Conference of Jewish Social Welfare, September 1947

This piece discusses adolescent refugees in the United States and the experience of the Pittsburgh Jewish Social Service Bureau in handling this population. The author asserts that as a multiple function agency, there was no question that the agency needs to handle this group. However, consideration was given to whether the children would be handled by the youth or family departments. The piece concludes by affirming the need for vigilance and sensitivity towards helping this population.
