Rejecting the Cult of Death

By Ahad La'am

Jewish Family & Life (JFL Media), April 2006

Laam calls for a moratorium on Shoah education on the grounds that "the most powerful and pervasive message today's Jewish world sends to the next generation is that we are obsessed with death, not life." He advocates teaching our children to "gaze upwards, away from the Holocaust, and live joyful, enriched, value-based, mission-oriented, full and diverse Jewish lives.
