Divine Sparks

By Simon Jacobson

Jewish Family & Life (JFL Media), February 2007

The author, a follower of the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, describes the basic teaching of Chabad that within all matter lies potent spiritual energy and our purpose is to turn the world into an intimate home for the divine. He examines the Lubavitch movement in the context of American culture and Judaism and concludes with the belief that our accumulative effort will erupt into a global surge of goodness and spirituality, bringing on the age of redemption, when the world will be filled with Divine knowledge as waters cover the sea.
