Book Review: Women Remaking American Judaism

By Judith Rosenbaum

Jewish Family & Life (JFL Media), January 2008

In her review of Riv-Ellen Prell's Women Remaking American Judaism, the author describes the book's organization into three sections that demonstrate the diversity of Jewish feminist approaches: reenvisioning Judaism, redefining Judaism and reframing Judaism. Furthermore, the author praises Prell's introduction for going beyond a summary and synthesis of the individual essays and creating a larger context for the project by examining the relationship between Jewish feminism and the Enlightenment.
