Hard Choices Ahead

By Warren Bass

Jewish Family & Life (JFL Media), May 2002

The author reacts to Stephen Cohen's article connecting 9/11/2001 and the 2000 Intifada in Israel. He discusses American Jews' roles as Americans and as Jews. He argues that grappling with policy questions will require more of American Jews, as patriots and pluralists, than 1980s evocations of communal unity - yet accusations of media bias are no substitute for serious discussions of foreign policy by Americans.
