A Changing Landscape

By Barbara B. Friedman

Jewish Family & Life (JFL Media), November 2007

The author supports Lawrence Hoffman's assessment of Reform Judaism (in this issue of Sh'ma) but is optimistic about Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion's ability to meet the challenges he articulates. To that end, HUC launched three fellowship programs designed to prepare students to serve a changing community. She concludes with the hope that Reform Judaism continues to offer meaning and guidance in today's world.
