The Education Activities of the JDC in European Countries

This report covers the educational activities of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) in Europe. The report begins by identifying the traditional policy that has worked in accordance with the wishes of the people partaking in the activities in addition to highlighting the JDC√Ę??s policy of following the lead of the people, rather than imposing strictures on their convictions and policies. The piece elaborates on how the JDC enabled Jewish children to attend school in addition to providing library books. The piece concludes by asserting that American Jewish educators have a role to play in the reconstruction of Jewish community life.
