An Introduction to the Sugya

By Edward Feld

CLAL: the National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership, February 17, 1995

The author explains that embedded in the Talmudic sugya is a series of mishnayot dealing with tikkun olam (repairing the world). He interprets these stories to mean that even when one acts justly, the consequences of his or her actions will ultimately counter the goals of tikkun olam.
