Innovative Membership Models

By Barbara Weisbart, Paula Herzmark, Joel Dinkin, Dale Busch

JCC Association - Jewish Community Centers of North America (JCCA), May 1997

The authors assert that many Jewish Community Centers (JCCs) have begun to rethink the traditional concept of membership and to develop new membership and service models. The recent trend is marked by a move away from long-term membership towards more casual consumer mentalities. The authors present examples of some of these new models as implemented by JCCs in MetroWest, NJ, Baltimore, MD, Columbus, OH, and Denver, CO.
