A Weave of Jewish Caring: From Needy Jews to All Jews in Need

By Simkha Y. Weintraub

Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), Winter 2010

At the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services (JBFCS), where I am honored to serve as Rabbinic Director, we have worked hard to develop programs and offer services that use a "biopsychosocialspiritual" lens to look at individuals and families holistically - not in a fragmented manner that can unwittingly entrench and exacerbate the very problems we seek to address. It is because of this mindset that it is a particular honor to reflect on the past ten years of evolution and change, so much of it related to the leadership of my esteemed and long-term friend and colleague, John Ruskay.
