Eric Yoffie, as the new leader of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, has the clear task of steering Reform Judaism back to the core purpose of Judaism, as well as to the political and liturgical center. Attempting to appease everyone in the margins has scattered the movement, and consequently weakened it.
