The Secret Weapon in Jewish Survival

By Charles S. Liebman

Eugene Borowitz, March 2, 1973

This article is a satire, part of a satirical issue of "Sh'ma: A Journal of Jewish Responsibility" which is renamed "Sha: A Journal of Jewish Invisibility" in honor of the holiday of Purim, of which satire is traditional element. The author, speaking in the voice of a future fictional rabbi speaking at the beginning of the 21st Century, lauds Judaism for evolving past primitive ideas of religion and God, and developing into a glorious renewal based on the mighty ideal of social-scientific questionnaires.
